Cryolipolysis (Cool Sculpting)

This method involves freezing fat cells to break them down. The targeted area is cooled to a temperature that causes fat cells to undergo apoptosis (cell death). Over time, the body naturally eliminates the dead fat cells. Cool Sculpting is commonly used on areas like the abdomen, thighs, and love handles.

1.  Selection of Targeted Area:

  • The process begins with the identification of the area or areas on the body where the patient desires fat Common treatment areas include the abdomen, flanks (love handles), thighs, and sub-mental area (double chin).

2.  Application of Gel Pad and Applicator:

  • A gel pad is applied to the skin to protect it from frostbite and ensure a smooth transfer of cooling An applicator is then attached to the targeted area.

3.  Vacuum Suction and Cooling:

  • The cryolipolysis machine uses vacuum suction to draw the fatty tissue into the applicator, bringing it into contact with cooling panels.
  • The cooling panels initiate controlled cooling of the fat cells beneath the The temperature is carefully regulated to a level that induces apoptosis (programmed cell death) in the fat cells while preserving the surrounding tissues.

4.  Crystallization of Fat Cells:

  • As the fat cells are exposed to the controlled cooling, they undergo a process called crystallization. This causes the lipid (fat) droplets within the cells to

5.  Apoptosis of Fat Cells:

  • The crystallized fat cells trigger a natural response within the body, leading to apoptosis, or cell death, of the targeted fat cells.
  • The body’s immune system recognizes the damaged fat cells as debris and begins the process of breaking them down.

6.  Inflammatory Response:

  • Over the following weeks, the body’s inflammatory response is Macrophages, a type of immune cell, engulf and digest the dead fat cells.

7.  Gradual Elimination of Fat Cells:

  • The broken-down fat cells are then transported to the liver through the lymphatic system, where they are metabolized and eventually eliminated from the body as

8.  Results Over Time:

  • The reduction in fat volume becomes noticeable over the course of several weeks to a few Patients typically experience a gradual improvement in the treated area’s contour and a reduction in fat bulges.

It’s important to note that cryolipolysis is a noninvasive and relatively low-risk procedure, but it may not be suitable for everyone. Individual responses to the treatment can vary, and multiple sessions might be needed to achieve the desired results. As with any cosmetic procedure, it’s crucial to consult with a qualified healthcare professional to assess whether cryolipolysis is an appropriate option for your specific needs and expectations.
